Full job description
We're excited to welcome a Peer Worker to our Lived Experience Team.
The Peer Worker provides support in crisis support spaces, inpatient and community settings.
The Sunshine Coast Crisis Support Spaces operate from Nambour General Hospital and Sunshine Coast University Hospital, from 1pm - 9pm, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. The team of peer workers and clinicians work closely together to provide short-term support to people experiencing mental health distress. The service operates as an alternative to the Emergency Department, for people 16 years and over who don't need urgent medical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Draw on lived experience to provide recovery-oriented peer support that supports consumers' recovery journey and models hope.
Promote recovery by supporting consumers to identify strengths and actively participate in their recovery planning.
Assist with the planning, facilitation and evaluation of groups, and psychoeducation that promote recovery, connection and wellbeing.
Utilise well developed communication and consultation to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to promote the functions of the peer role.
Remuneration value up to $101 073 p.a., comprising salary between $79,658 - $88,586 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $40.17 - $44.67 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO3) (Flexible permanent full time and part time positions available, hours negotiable). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
