About the 2025-26 Permanent and Temporary Section 26 Transfer Register
The Department of Education Permanent and Temporary Section 26 Transfer Register is open for ongoing APS employees to register their interest for a permanent and/or temporary section 26 transfer to the department.

The register enables the department to access suitable and experienced individuals for employment opportunities across a broad range of classifications and business areas at short notice.

• You must be employed as an ongoing APS employee to apply.
• You will only be contacted in the event a vacancy arises that matches your skills and experience.
• Your application is not a guarantee that an offer of employment will be made.
• Your application will remain active until 31 March 2026.

Applications are not carried over after this time, you will be required to submit a new application for the Permanent and Temporary Section 26 Transfer Register.

Eligibility
Employment at the Department of Education is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:

• Citizenship: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
• Security Clearance: You must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a level designated by the Department.
