Leisure Inn Penny Royal Hotel & Apartments is an 82 room hotel located in Launceston, and part of Seibu Prince Hotel and Resorts , which has a number of hotels throughout Australia and across the globe in India, Indonesia, Singapore, UAE, United Kingdom and Vietnam.

We are looking for a passionate, casual Handyperson/Maintenance to join our team.

The position is responsible for a range of general maintenance and housekeeping tasks, with a focus on maintenance and providing support to our housekeeping team with their day-to-day operations. The position will be rostered for approximately 24-30 hours a week at current award rates, with shifts over a rotating period, but largely in daylight hours between Monday and Friday, with occasional rotating weekends and on-call work required.

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintenance:

• Cleaning air-conditioners
• Mowing lawns
• Grounds general maintenance
• Linen to storerooms
• Stock control
• General room maintenance works

Also, as our hotel is spread across two sites, approximately 200m apart, there is use of our ute required to move stock, so a valid manual drivers license is also essential.

Experience in some of these tasks is preferred, but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.

Preferred personal attributes include:

• Excellent organisational and teamwork skills
• Clear communication skills both written and spoken
• Valid Australian manual drivers license
• Ability to work unsupervised and to a schedule
• Ability to prioritise tasks

Please note: this role is best suited to a fit, energetic and strong individual as it does require regular manual labour in lifting linen and stock items up stairs and across floors.
