Full job description

St Jude's Healthcare Services is one of the leading providers of Residential Aged Care and Disability Services in WA and QLD. St Jude's is seeking compassionate, reliable and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to join our aged care team across multiple facilities in Perth, Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

As a Personal Care Assistant, your duties will include:

- Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene.
- Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, positioning and the use of mobility aids, following care plans and safe manual handling practices.
- Providing support with eating, drinking and meal preparation, including assisting clients during mealtimes where required.
- Assisting clients with medication in accordance with organisational policies and relevant legislation where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Supporting clients with social, recreational and community activities to promote independence and wellbeing.
- Monitoring clients' physical, emotional and behavioural wellbeing and reporting changes in condition to nursing staff or supervisors.
- Assisting with housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry and maintaining a safe, hygienic living environment where these tasks form part of the client's care plan.
- Recording care provided and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with organisational policies.
- Providing emotional support and companionship while respecting clients' privacy, dignity, cultural diversity and individual preferences.
- Working collaboratively with nurses, allied health professionals and other care staff to deliver person-centred care.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures, infection prevention and control protocols, and organisational policies.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) or a related qualification.
- Previous experience in aged care is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A genuine commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid Work Rights
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
