Job Description


Oaks Perth Hotel
are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Support less experienced team members when required.

Approved Sponsor: Minor Hotels Australasia Limited (previously known as Oaks Hotels & Resorts Limited)

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 (excluding superannuation)

Expected hours: 38 hours per week

Qualifications


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant Certificate III in Cookery and previous experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Modern Australian Cuisine.
  • Understanding of HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
  • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends.
  • Ability to coach and motivate less experienced kitchen team members.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
