About the role
The Property Officer supports the delivery of land transactions that directly enable the operation, expansion and provision of public schools across NSW. This includes assisting with the acquisition of new sites and additional land for existing schools, identifying assets surplus to requirements and supporting divestments, as well as contributing to a range of other strategic property matters. The role supports end-to-end property transactions and assists in ensuring property dealings align with educational priorities, legislative requirements and community needs.
The role sits within the Acquisitions and Divestments team in School Infrastructure. The team is responsible for acquiring land for new and expanding schools, managing divestments of surplus assets and delivering strategic property outcomes that support the growth of the NSW public education system. Working across metropolitan and regional NSW, you will assist in delivering complex property transactions and engage with landowners, councils, valuers, consultants and other government agencies.

About you
- Demonstrated experience in property, land transactions or project delivery.
- Strong written communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in either a property related or project management discipline and/or equivalent experience in property services management.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
