About Us
The Terrorism (Community Protection) Act 2003 (Vic) establishes two therapeutic case management schemes that provide early intervention for low to moderate need individuals who are vulnerable, or are at risk of radicalising towards, violent extremism.
Therapeutic interventions are delivered to participants of the case management schemes through a multi-faceted governance and operating model, with a Countering Violent Extremism Multi-Agency Panel (CVE MAP) and the Secretary of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) providing authorisation.
The CVE Operations team within the Community Safety, Victims and Racing Group leads oversight, management and governance of the case management schemes, and is responsible for the delivery of best practice specialised assessment and therapeutic interventions for individuals participating in the schemes.
What you will do
As operational psychologist, countering violent extremism (CVE), you will provide clinical leadership for specialist case management and therapeutic services.

- support complex risk management and work with government agencies, Victoria Police and service providers
- lead clinical projects, quality reviews and research that strengthen therapeutic services.
About you
You must hold registration as a psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 with practice endorsement as a clinical, forensic, educational and developmental or clinical neuropsychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia or be eligible to enter an approved registrar program where relevant.
You should also have:
- specialist clinical expertise in countering violent extremism, youth mental health or neurodiversity
- advanced skills in assessment, complex risk management and tailored therapeutic intervention
- strong knowledge of forensic rehabilitation, youth mental health, relevant legislation and community clinical practice
- proven ability to lead projects, improve practice, solve complex problems and build effective working relationships.
