About the role

Mater Research is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team as a Research Coordinator in the Respiratory, Infection and Oncology Clinical Trial Unit! This permanent, full-time role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

Salary range: $42.24 - $49.07 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As the Research Coordinator, you will be supporting the end-to-end delivery of clinical trials focused on respiratory and infectious diseases within the Respiratory, Infection and Oncology Clinical Trial Unit, including study start-up, participant coordination, data management, and close-out. The role ensures all activities comply with study protocols, ethics and governance approvals, ICH GCP, and Australian regulatory requirements.

About you

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with a relevant bachelor degree, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Research Nurses: minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
  • Coordinators: minimum 2 years of relevant clinical trials experience
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to guide junior staff.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient Computer Literacy

Desirable:

  • Strong understanding of clinical research protocols, regulatory frameworks, and ethical guidelines (e.g., GCP, TGA requirements).
  • Ability to independently apply theoretical knowledge to solve problems and improve workflows.
  • Experience coordinating research projects and managing clinical trial activities.
  • Experience contributing to policy and process development for clinical research teams.
