Job details
Full job description
Looking for a nursing role with more balance, while still using the clinical experience you’ve built?
Kantoko is an online platform for ongoing, adult ADHD care. We’re growing, and we’re looking for the next person to join our founding nursing team.
This is a remote contractor role working three to four days per week - no commute, and no shift work. If you have at least 3 years of post-graduate experience across ED, critical care or mental health and you want your clinical skills to count for something different, this could be that change.
You’ll work from home while providing ADHD care alongside our team of GPs and psychiatrists. That care is delivered through a platform built by our design, engineering and operation teams.
About Kantoko
Kantoko exists to make adult ADHD care work for real life.
We bring assessment, clinical care and ongoing support together in one telehealth platform. Our Psychiatry, GP, Nursing and Customer Care teams work closely together, supported by technology built around the way care is delivered.
For the adults we support, that means fewer handovers, less repetition and a team that stays with them for the longer term.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support people as they move through their care with Kantoko. Your work will include:
-
Screening and triaging people joining the service
-
Conducting clinical reviews and check-ins via telehealth
-
Completing clinical assessments and risk assessments
-
Responding to clinical escalations from our Customer Care team
-
Identifying when someone needs further review or escalation
-
Working closely with our GPs and psychiatrists
-
Documenting assessments clearly and keeping the wider care team informed
-
Helping us improve our clinical processes and telehealth software through your feedback
What we’re looking for
You’ll need:
-
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
-
At least three years of postgraduate clinical experience
-
A background in critical care and/or mental health nursing
-
Experience in an area such as emergency nursing, psychiatric nursing or mental health triage
-
Strong clinical assessment, patient triage and risk assessment skills
-
Confidence making decisions and working independently in a remote clinical role
-
Clear written and verbal communication
-
The ability to work three to four weekdays each week
Experience in ADHD care or telehealth is helpful, but it isn’t essential. What matters is that you’re interested in mental health, ready to learn and comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You’ll probably enjoy this role if you:
-
Want to move away from shift work or the hospital environment
-
Are looking for a career pivot into telehealth, mental health or ADHD care
-
Are passionate about evidence-based and proactive mental health care
-
Stay calm when a situation isn’t straightforward
-
Enjoy working with GPs, psychiatrists and non-clinical teams
-
Are comfortable learning new technology
-
Want your clinical feedback to shape how care is delivered
-
Are looking for work that leaves more room for life outside work
Why work with Kantoko
-
Flexible telehealth, three to four days a week: This is a fully remote contractor role, working consistently across three or four weekdays. You’ll work from home, with no overnight shifts or rotating rosters.
-
A different way to use your nursing experience: You’ll use your clinical judgement through telehealth triage, clinical reviews, risk assessment and ongoing mental health care.
-
A team around you: You’ll work closely with Kantoko’s GPs, psychiatrists and Customer Care team. You’ll be trusted to make decisions, with clinical support available when a situation is more complex.
-
Technology shaped by clinicians: Our telehealth platform is built around what patients and clinicians actually need, with support from our Operations, Design and Engineering teams. Your feedback will help improve the care experience for both clinicians and patients.
