As an Electrical Linesperson, you’ll be part of a team that keeps Queensland connected and powers communities every day. With us, you’ll gain the skills and opportunities to build a future you're proud of.

Your opportunity

As a Linesperson, based at Blackall, you’ll build on your highly practiced electrical skills to ensure the ongoing integrity of our LV and HV overhead powerline infrastructure for our communities across Central West Queensland.

Here’s how you’ll do it:
  • Carry out maintenance (preventative, planned, unplanned), and repairs to our distribution network to ensure its ongoing reliability.
  • Construct and augment our distribution network to meet the changing needs of our residential and commercial customers and other stakeholders.
  • Install, repair, commission and maintain various items of electrical equipment and plant that make up our vast distribution network.

The remuneration for your new role is from $113,758 per annum + 14.75% superannuation + applicable allowances.

  • Feel safe and supported: A safety-first culture and access to our 24/7 Employee Assistance Program.
  • Get paid to play: Annual leave loading and salary sacrificing means more spending money in your pocket.

Location incentives:
  • Non-Urban Zone Allowance – up to $16,297 per annum.
  • Housing Allowance – up to $8,819 per annum.
  • Locality Allowance – up to $2,665 per annum.
  • Non-Urban Time Recognition Payments - $10,000 after 2 years and if you decide to stay on for 5, 10, 15 or even 20 years, we’ll pay you $15,000 at each milestone.

Plus, an additional 4 days of annual leave per year to assist with travel to and from your chosen holiday destinations.

And, if you don't currently live in this neck of the woods, we'll also chip in up to $10,000 relocation assistance to make the move just that little bit easier.

What you’ll bring
  • Current Queensland Electrical Licencing Board Certificate as an Electrical Linesperson.
  • Up to Level 3 HV Switching authorisation (desirable).
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence.

We’d also love you to have:
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
  • Availability for call out and emergency work.
  • Willingness to travel to surrounding areas from time to time to undertake work.
