Your next career opportunity
You will drive the synthesis and characterisation of pressure-responsive inorganic molecular materials within a collaborative ARC project. You will gain hands-on experience with high-pressure X-ray diffraction, SQUID magnetometry, and advanced spectroscopic techniques. You will also mentor students, oversee laboratory safety, and build an independent research profile.
What you will deliver:
-
Design, synthesise and grow crystals of inorganic molecular materials that show pressure-responsive physical and electronic properties.
-
Perform high-pressure single-crystal X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements using synchrotron and SQUID magnetometry facilities.
-
Lead characterisation using techniques such as electrochemistry, powder diffraction, NMR, EPR and electronic spectroscopy.
-
Oversee laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, safety compliance, risk assessments, and support for junior researchers.
-
Publish high-quality research, contribute to funding proposals, and present findings at seminars, conferences and public forums.

Hold a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, ideally with an inorganic or materials focus.

Manage research projects effectively, meeting deadlines while working both independently and within collaborative teams.
