The Opportunity

Group A Streptococcus (Strep A) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) research at The Kids is built around a focus on Indigenous leadership and collaboration, privileging the voices of those with lived experience of these diseases. We aim to understand the epidemiology of Strep A infections in Australia and the world, and explore the implementation of endgame recommendations, health economics and new horizons.

As our team continues to grow, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Support Officer to provide high-level project coordination and administrative support to the Strep A Translation team.

Working closely with one of the Team Leads and the Program Manager, this role will support the planning, coordination and delivery of program activities, while also providing proactive executive and diary management support. The position will contribute to effective governance, stakeholder engagement, financial administration and operational efficiency across the program.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with planning, prioritisation and coordination of program activities.
  
• Provide high-level administrative and diary management support to the Project Lead and Program Manager.
  
• Coordinate internal and external program meetings, including preparation of agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
  
• Support governance and compliance requirements, including reporting obligations and documentation processes.
  
Manage inboxes and communication channels as required, redirecting enquiries as appropriate.

Based in our offices within Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this full-time role will be offered for an initial 2-year period.

About You

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field and/or demonstrated experience in program coordination and administration support. You will also demonstrate:

• Demonstrated experience in administration, program or project coordination.
  
• Experience providing high-level administrative support, including diary and meeting management.
  
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Adaptability and the ability to anticipate needs, use initiative and take proactive action.
  
Experience supporting financial administration processes.
