Key responsibilites include;

  • Lead end-to-end packaging development for Australian NPD, EPD, artwork, and CCI projects.
  • Own Australia’s packaging component of global/regional projects (IML tubes, pots, new formats) and manage factory trials and qualification.
  • Deliver APCo Action Plan, annual reporting, and PLP sustainability targets.
  • Manage recyclability assessments, PCR integration, material changes, and supplier sustainability programs.
  • Maintain all packaging specifications for Australia and oversee testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with Procurement, QA, SC, Marketing, and Operations to deliver packaging solutions and cost-improvement initiatives.
  • Represent Australia in global packaging forums and share learnings across regions.
  • Provide coaching and development to packaging technologists or contractors and improve systems and processes (Smartsheet, SAP RD, PLM).

Ideal Candidate

You are a technical leader with a passion for packaging innovation and sustainability. You thrive in cross-functional environments and have strong project management skills to deliver complex initiatives on time and within budget.

What you’ll bring;

  • Degree in Packaging, Engineering, Food Technology, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in packaging development and commercialisation within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, sustainability practices, and APCo compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and supplier negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead trials, troubleshoot operational issues, and maintain rigorous quality standards.
  • Familiarity with SAP, PLM systems, and specification management.
