We are seeking to establish a pool of talented Assistants in Nursing to expand the Fiona Stanley & Fremantle Hospitals Group team. The successful applicants as part of a multidisciplinary team delivers general patient care to patients under the direct supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse or Midwife. Performs the primary function of an Assistant in Nursing as defined in Assistant in Nursing Policy MP 0080/18

Applicants must hold a:

o Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in nursing work in acute care), OR

o Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), OR

o Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged care), OR

o Certificate III in Aged Care.

A copy of the certificate must be uploaded at the end of the application.

This is a recruitment pool for permanent full time/part time, fixed term full time/part time appointments. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2026.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is the major tertiary-quaternary hospital in the South Metropolitan area and offers comprehensive health care services to adults, youth and children.

Fremantle Hospital (FH) provides specialist hospital services and plays a vital role in supporting the tertiary-quaternary services of Fiona Stanley Hospital. It delivers specialist inpatient and outpatient services including aged care and elective surgical services.

What happens after I apply?

This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:

  • The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
  • The Nursing Recruitment Manager will review your CV and references.
  • Application outcomes may be delayed if referee details are not provided at the time of submission. Please ensure all referee contact information is current and accurate. It is your responsibility to confirm that your recent referees have agreed to provide a reference if contacted.
  • If suitable, you will be added to the recruitment pool.
  • Health Support Services (HSS) will email you confirming your status (successful or unsuccessful, check your spam/junk mail).
  • Nurse Unit Managers (NUMs) will contact you directly if a suitable position arises.
  • You will be eligible for positions that become available until 31st December 2026.

A few important notes if successful to the pool:

  • If you do not hear from a NUM, it means either:
  • Your application wasn’t selected, or
  • There are no current vacancies in your chosen area.
  • However, you will remain in the pool until 31st December 2026.
  • If you accept a position elsewhere, please let us know by withdrawing your application and notifying the Nursing Corporate Nurse Manager via FSFHG.NursingRecruit@health.wa.gov.au
