About The Role
Reporting to Senior Sourcing Specialist, the purpose of this role is to support the sourcing team by assisting in day-to-day activities, ensuring processes are followed and data is accurately maintained to enable smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow established sourcing processes to ensure product quality, fitness for purpose, and compliance with required specifications.
- Support sourcing specialists and the manager in gathering product information, quotations, and samples.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand basic sourcing needs and assist in providing sourcing solutions.
- Conduct cost comparisons to identify the most cost-effective sourcing options.
- Assist with the preparation and updates of Product Specification Sheets and coordinate stakeholder sign-offs.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier and product data, including managing cost movement approval processes.
- Assist in the management of private and exclusive label projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Support the follow-up of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and help resolve quality issues.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as required.
About You
- Prior sourcing experience is not essential, but any exposure to the import or shipping industry, particularly within an office environment, is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Proactive and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and basic formulas.
- Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable and willing to take on new tasks as the role evolves.
- Experience liaising with suppliers in China and other Asian countries; Chinese language skills desirable.
