About the Department / Program

The Monash Health Orthopaedic Unit covers elective and all trauma components of Orthopaedic Surgery, across three campuses - Dandenong, Moorabbin and Monash Childrens' Hospital. We are a team of 53, including junior and senior medical staff. The Orthopaedic Unit also has direct responsibility for our ICU/HDU beds.

Join our team as a Personal Assistant, working part-time 3 days a week (Monday to Wednesday), based onsite at Dandenong Hospital. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of Dr Rabi Solaiman and working with the broader Orthopaedic Surgery team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Provide administrative support to the Service Director and Unit Heads, and support the broader unit
Coordinate rostering, on-call coverage, leave management and payroll processing
Manage diaries, meetings, and catering where required
Assist with coordination of recruitment and onboarding
Staff communications
Maintain workforce records, compliance requirements and unit documentation.
Support recruitment and employment processes for medical staff, fellows, registrars, observers and junior doctors.
Administer financial processes including FFS, CME claims and payment requests.
Coordinate intern and trainee onboarding, orientation and assessments.
Manage general office operations, supplies and equipment.
Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Prioritise competing demands to ensure efficient unit operations and service delivery.

About You

Mandatory requirements of the role

Previous experience in a high-level administrative role
Previous experience within healthcare administration (desireable)
