Early Years Planning and Development Officer

  • Part time permanent position (34.8hrs per week)
  • Fantastic opportunity to join our Early and Middle Years team!
  • $ 101,985 per annum (pro rata) (Band 6A) plus Superannuation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Early Years Planning and Development Officer to join our team and contribute to improving outcomes for children and families in the community.

A little bit more about the role

You will be responsible for supporting the planning, development and implementation of early years initiatives, programs and services across the municipality, including overseeing Boroondara’s kindergarten Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme (CRES).

The role will contribute to strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and delivery of early years infrastructure projects, ensuring services and facilities meet the needs of a growing and diverse community.

You will also work collaboratively across Council and with external partners to support integrated service delivery and promote inclusive participation across early childhood services.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will bring demonstrated knowledge of early years frameworks, policies and current sector trends, along with experience working with community groups and service providers.

You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for the community are essential.

Qualifications and Employment Requirements

  • Degree qualification in early childhood, community development, social planning or a related field
  • Experience working within the early years sector, preferably in a local government setting
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, policy and frameworks (e.g. Early Years Learning Framework)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
