Position: Graduate Solar Engineer
Department: Engineering / Renewable Energy
Reports To: Senior Solar Engineer / Engineering Manager

Role Overview

The Graduate Solar Engineer supports the design, development, implementation, and optimization of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. This role provides hands-on experience in renewable energy engineering, including system design, performance analysis, project execution, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Solar System Design & Engineering

• Assist in the design and layout of solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.
• Prepare technical drawings, single-line diagrams, and system specifications.
• Conduct energy yield assessments and performance simulations.
• Support equipment selection, including solar panels, inverters, transformers, and mounting systems.

Technical Analysis

• Analyze solar resource and weather data.
• Perform system sizing calculations and electrical design studies.
• Evaluate project feasibility, energy production, and technical performance.
• Support battery energy storage system (BESS) integration studies where applicable.

Project Support

• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Support construction, commissioning, and testing activities.
• Monitor project progress and help resolve technical issues.

Site Assessments

• Participate in site inspections and feasibility studies.
• Collect field data and assess site conditions.
• Identify potential design constraints and optimization opportunities.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Assist with preparation of permit applications and grid connection documentation.
• Support quality control, testing, and commissioning procedures.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and project documentation.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and project files.
• Present findings and recommendations to project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of solar PV systems and electrical engineering principles.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of solar design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $49,900.00 – $65,000.00 per year
