About the role

The Senior Speech Pathologist works as part of the Cocoon Clinic to deliver expert speech pathology services with a strong focus on Paediatric feeding, infant development, relationship‑based practice and trauma‑informed care. The Women’s & Children’s Cocoon Clinic is a multidisciplinary service that provides comprehensive, collaborative care to vulnerable infants up to the age of 24 months, with medical/developmental complexities and psychosocial vulnerability.

Key duties of the role

Provision of specialist speech pathology services to infants, children and their families/carers.
Provision of consultancy services in the area of speech pathology management.
Advice on service delivery development, practice and redesign of the Cocoon Clinic.
Support and actively participate in a positive culture and safe work environment.
Contributes and supports research initiatives as appropriate.

Skills and Experience

Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles eligibility to use the title Certified Practising Speech Pathologist as a certified practising member of Australia’s peak national body for speech pathologists, Speech Pathology Australia.
Minimum 5 years’ experience providing paediatric speech pathology services, including feeding and early communication.
Demonstrated expertise in paediatric feeding, infant development, and relationship-based, trauma-informed care.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and family-centred care environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of service development, quality improvement, and evaluation processes.
