About the role
Join the City of Melbourne’s Libraries, Recreation and Waterways Branch and help shape a more inclusive and equitable sport and recreation landscape across our city.
This exciting temporary opportunity will support the delivery of the Fair Access Sport and Recreation Allocation and Use Policy and Action Plan, helping improve access, participation and inclusion for women and girls in community sport and recreation.
Working closely with sporting clubs, recreation user groups, community organisations and internal stakeholders, you’ll help strengthen inclusion, build capability and support healthier, more active communities.

- Facilitate and support delivery of Fair Access initiatives across community sport and recreation facilities
- Partner with clubs, community groups and sporting bodies to improve equitable participation opportunities
- Deliver training, engagement activities and inclusion-focused programs that strengthen community capability
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across local government, sporting organisations and community networks
- Support grants, projects, community engagement activities and continuous improvement initiatives

What your experience might look like - Key Selection Criteria
- Experience in community sport, recreation, leisure, community development or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engagement initiatives, training programs or community capacity-building activities
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups
- Understanding of inclusion, equity and barriers to participation in sport and recreation
- Tertiary qualification in community development, sport and recreation management or a related discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
