Caring for our city, creating a future for all
Our people are passionate about their communities and connected to their teams. They’re motivated by our genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, and our clear, compelling plan for our global city: Sustainable Sydney 2030 – 2050 Continuing the Vision.
Be part of a purpose-led organisation with care at its core. You’ll make a difference by acting in the best interests of our communities and city. Be better together with collaborative and inclusive partnerships. Embrace possibilities and be open to new ideas and creating bold solutions.
About the role
Are you passionate about sport and recreation and committed to delivering high quality programs and services that promote inclusive participation, social connection, and improved health and wellbeing across the community?
We’re excited to welcome a motivated and experienced Recreation Officer to join our recreation precinct team.
Under the guidance of the Operations Team Leader and Precinct Manager, you’ll plan, implement and deliver a range of sports and recreational programs and services, including sports competitions, inclusive programs and events, and space hire services that respond to the needs of our community. You’ll also support the efficient day-to-day operations and service delivery across multiple recreation centres and all-weather sportsfields within our growing precinct.
This role also presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of new programs at the soon-to-open Huntley Street Recreation Centre.
We’re looking for someone with:
- demonstrated experience with planning and delivery of recreation programs, activities or events
- strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with others
- experience with point-of-sale and booking systems, and Microsoft Office applications, or the ability to learn quickly
- the ability to work a spread of hours, working a roster that includes weekdays, weekends and nights, and be available to work across multiple locations within the Local Government area
- current First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake relevant training.
This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
The recommended applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration, medical assessment, criminal history and working with children check.
Applications must be submitted online by 11:59pm, Wednesday 2 September 2026.
For more information, contact Brian Law, Precinct Manager on 02 9265 9273.
