About the role

Join a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and 2026 Sustainability Champion recognised by the World Steel Association. Play a key role in shaping our performance across our Mesh business.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and based at our Mayfield campus, you will lead day shift operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective production of reinforcing steel products. You will be responsible for delivering production, quality and DIFOT outcomes while leading a large manufacturing team, driving a strong safety culture and ensuring employees are set up for success through effective workforce planning, training and performance management.


What you will be doing:

  • Lead and coordinate day shift production activities to achieve safety, quality, productivity and customer service targets.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, audits, housekeeping standards and compliance with site procedures.
  • Manage workforce planning, leave, training, development and performance to optimise team capability and engagement.
  • Monitor production performance, inventory and scrap levels to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Partner with maintenance, planning and despatch teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered on time and in full.
  • Maintain accurate production, payroll and training records using business systems including SAP.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and reliability.

  • Experience supervising production teams within a safety-focused manufacturing, logistics or industrial environment.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including workforce planning, performance management, coaching and employee development.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver operational outcomes.
  • Track record of meeting customer service expectations through effective production planning and execution.
  • Hands-on leadership style, high level of accountability and confidence working across shop floor and administrative responsibilities.
