Love being on the move? Drive a company van, pick up mail and parcels from our letter boxes and Post Offices, sort items back at the depot, and learn the ropes alongside senior drivers who’ve got your back.
Being on the road with us at Australia Post means freedom, fresh air, and work that moves with you. Kick off your day surrounded by a great bunch of people before heading out to pick-up mail for your local community. Wherever the road takes you, you’re backed by a team that values safety, supports your wellbeing, and gives you room to grow.

About the opportunity
In this role, you’ll safely operate a company van to collect mail and parcels from a range of locations, including street posting boxes, corporate offices, licensed post offices, and delivery centres. You’ll unload and accurately sort mail and parcels, complete daily vehicle safety checks, and take pride in doing the job right every time. You’ll be supported on the road by experienced senior drivers who are invested in your development, helping you build capability, confidence, and a strong foundation for long‑term success.

About you
  • Hold a full or probationary NSW Australian driver’s licence
  • Experience driving a van or large vehicle (our vans are automatic)
  • Safety‑focused and able to pass our practical van driving assessment
  • Are available to work across the above rotating roster
  • Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work additional hours when required
  • Detail‑oriented and consistent, taking pride in getting the job done right
  • Happy doing very physical work loading and unloading vans
  • Are ok to handle packages that may contain food and/or alcohol
  • Comfortable handling mail and parcels up to 16kg as part of daily work
  • Meet our safe working load requirement of 130kg or less

What else is in it for you?
  • Pay rate is $32.48 per hour and 12% superannuation. Additional 15% shift penalties apply on all shifts
  • The perfect balance of a diverse, supportive team to connect with and your own time and space on the road by yourself
  • Working hours that gives you flexibility to make space for what’s important to you either before or after work
  • Your safety and wellbeing is prioritised above everything else, so you go home the same way you came to work
  • Opportunities for training, growth and development with pathways in transport or other areas of the business
  • Discounts and offers on lots of your favourite brands via Post Perks for more cash in your pocket, plus access to other health and wellbeing resources

Training and Support
At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free.
