Trainee Locomotive Driver

An opportunity has presented itself for a Trainee Locomotive Driver to join our team in Port Augusta.
What You’ll Do
Undertake a structured traineeship to become a Qualified Locomotive Driver through practical and theoretical training.
Reporting to the Terminal Supervisor, you will:
- Undertake a three-stage traineeship program combining classroom and practical learning
- Learn to prepare, manage and operate locomotives and trains safely in a live rail environment
- Complete competency-based assessments and on and off the job training
- Follow operational procedures to support safe and efficient train operations
What You’ll Bring
- A high regard for safety
- Ability to work effectively in a team and strong communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Flexibility to work rotating 24/7 shifts including nights, weekends and work away from home
- Current “C” class driver’s licence and School Certificate or equivalent
- Willingness to learn and commitment to personal development
