Your role

Our paid internship program will give you the opportunity to put into practice what you have been learning throughout your studies and gain invaluable experience in the defence and security industry.
The program runs for up to 12 weeks over the November to February period. During this placement, you will work alongside our expert engineers gaining experience on real-life projects and case studies. You will learn from colleagues who are specialists in their field and develop your skills and knowledge further.
Some of the roles offered in our upcoming program include:
Modelling & Simulation: focused on improvement of computing techniques for defence applications and the modelling of defence systems
Software Engineering: focused on our security system, mixed reality 3D visualisation, ground based air defence, combat management system and submarine control system solutions
Systems Engineering: focused on our naval combat system solution.
About you:
- To be eligible for the Saab Australia Internship Program, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- You will be in your penultimate year or have completed at least 3 years of a Bachelor’s Degree
- You will be an Australian citizen and able to meet defence industry security requirements
We are seeking degree specialisations in the below disciplines (or similar):
- Computer Science/Software Engineering
- Physics/Mathematics
- Computer Systems/Network Engineering
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
- Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture
