  • Working either a Monday to Friday PM afternoon shift roster (1:00pm – 8:51pm) or a Tuesday to Saturday night shift roster (10:00pm – 5:51am).
  • Safely loading your truck with cages for delivery.
  • Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.
  • Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups.

You'll be paid:

  • PM Afternoon Casual Driver: $45.03/hr + $11.04 minimum daily vehicle / truck allowance.
  • Night Casual Driver: $49.95/hr + $11.04 minimum daily vehicle / truck allowance, with Saturday night shifts paying additional penalties.
  • Additional overtime penalty rates may apply where applicable.

You'll also enjoy:

  • Paid 5-day induction program to help set you up for success and provide a supported start with Australia Post.
  • Access to Post Perks – a benefits platform offering hundreds of discounts across groceries, fashion, technology, travel and more.

About you

  • You have unrestricted working rights in Australia, with no limitations on hours of work
  • You hold a HR Truck license or higher with operational experience
  • Hold a Forklift License (LF) or willing to obtain one
  • You’re safety focused
  • You have a customer-centric mindset
  • You have effective communication skills
  • You’re fit enough to load and unload parcels of all different shapes, sizes and weights frequently in and out of a truck up to 16kg. Our Drivers are on the go and require a high level of energy to support your busy day.
  • You’re prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo an Australia Post specific pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol screening and national police checks.

What else is in it for you?

  • The perfect balance of a diverse, supportive team to connect with and your own time and space on the road by yourself
  • Working hours that gives you flexibility to make space for what’s important to you either before or after work
  • Your safety and wellbeing is prioritised above everything else, so you go home the same way you came to work
  • Opportunities for training, growth and development with pathways in transport or other areas of the business
  • Discounts and offers on lots of your favourite brands via Post Perks for more cash in your pocket, plus access to other health and wellbeing resources

All walks, one route

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us. If you’ve got questions about accessibility, reach out to our Diversity & Inclusion team at inclusivecareers@auspost.com.au.
