About the role
Our Community Venues contribute to the City of Sydney’s vision for a socially just and inclusive city by providing the broader community with access to a variety of venue spaces for a diverse range of activities. The Venue Support Officer position is responsible for maintaining the efficient and effective operation of all bookings for Community venues, attending site visits, logging maintenance issues and providing excellent service to community who hire our spaces. The Community venues team are in the process implementing a new online booking system and the venue support officer will be part of this process.
We are seeking a highly motivated person with existing or transferrable experience and skills, interested in working in a high paced, challenging environment within a small team.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- experience in a similar role or transferable skills and experience, including in customer facing roles
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- established computer skills in online booking software as well as Microsoft Office programs and TRIM (or similar), as well as the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar software and local processes and apply these skills efficiently with minimum supervision
- the ability to effectively prioritise high volumes of work and respond flexibly to competing priorities
- ability to work effectively in a team environment, supporting colleagues to provide positive outcomes
The role is mainly an administrative, office based role but does require attendance at Community venues for hire on a regular basis.
This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
The recommended applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration, medical assessment and criminal history check.
