About The Role

We are seeking Deckhands to join and support our on-water team. These positions are responsible for preparing and manning the vessels for the transportation of guests, luggage and freight to and from Rottnest Island whilst delivering high quality services and experiences.

Initial contracts will be offered for the summer season between September 2026 to June 2027 on a full-time or part-time basis.


Key responsibilities will include
:

  • Providing high quality customer service and experiences to guest's onboard vessels
  • Serving customers coffee, food and alcohol from behind the kiosk
  • Delivering vessel support onshore via jetty setup, guest queue management and vessel berthing/departure procedures
  • Cargo Operations such as organisation of cargo for varying destinations/offloading and loading procedures, and manual handling of luggage crates onshore
  • Assisting with the coordination of the bike fleet, ensuring adequate numbers available to suit operational requirements
  • Assisting guests with moving around the vessel ensuring they are safe
  • Assisting with the management of berthing lines
  • Working in a team environment alongside other crew and the Vessel Master to make vessel berthing as smooth as possible as per procedures
  • Performing other vessel related tasks and following safety procedures as per vessels SMS
  • Daily cleaning duties, including general vessel clean and housekeeping, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for all guests
