About the role:

As an Intelligence Analyst working within Offender Management Division's Intelligence and Risk unit you will be required to undertake a range of intelligence tasks to support the management of some of the state's most complex offender cohorts including Registered Sex Offenders and individuals subject to a Supervision Order. Analysts are responsible for the provision of a range of intelligence products including tactical, operational and strategic assessments, offender risk assessments and trend analysis, target development, research and complex problem solving. In addition, analysts are expected to work closely alongside sworn police officers and provide intelligence support for pro-active, risk informed, intelligence-led investigations into recidivist offending.

Your duties will include:

• Compilation of tactical, operational and strategic intelligence products including offender risk assessments.
• Proactive environmental scanning to identify current and emerging risks, trends and issues
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure intelligence remains contemporary and valuable.
• Triaging and value adding to relevant Victoria Police information sources.
• Using intelligence tools and tradecraft across a variety of mediums in accordance with relevant policy and procedures.
• Representing the Intelligence and Risk unit at a variety of internal and external meetings and/or working groups.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the analysis of complex data sets in order to identify risk and report on relevant information.
• Being able to develop and maintain successful relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in line with organisational requirements.
• Excellent personal judgement and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated flexibility and capacity to work within a fast-paced environment.

Further Information:

• Two (2) x full-time, ongoing positions available.
• These positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
• The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
• The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
