About the role:
Counter Terrorism (CT) within Crime & Counter Terrorism Investigation Services (CCTIS) is a specialist area within Victoria Police that works with partner agencies to investigate, disrupt and mitigate the risk of terrorism and politically motivated violence in Victoria. The Strategic Coordination Unit (SCU) is responsible for the triage and provision of timely and accurate intelligence to support Victoria Police responses to terrorism and politically motivated violence. Working in a dedicated team of Sworn Police and Victorian Public Service staff, the Analyst will undertake a variety of operational and tactical intelligence tasks to assist investigators, managers and other specialist officers carry out CCTIS's mission.

Your duties will include:
- Undertaking the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis and controlled dissemination of information
- Developing good working relationships with team members as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Cultivating and maintaining a detailed knowledge of the current terrorism threat environment
- Effectively managing, maintaining, preparing and delivering intelligence information by utilising a variety of computer systems and applications
- Assess meaning from collected information and provide clear written and/or verbal analysis on the relevance of that information to unit decision makers
- Proactively identify intelligence tasks and execute them in consultation with a supervisor
- Comply with local instructions, policy and legislation in relation to information security, privacy and dissemination of information
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Well-developed critical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Have a proven ability to work well within a dynamic and busy team environment
- Tertiary qualifications in the related fields of criminology, criminal justice or intelligence are highly desirable
- A current National Security Clearance of Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) is highly desirable
Further Information:
- One (1) x 12-month fixed term position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
