At BlueScope, we offer opportunities to innovate and learn and grow with the business, always driven by Our Purpose – to create and inspire smart solutions in steel, to strengthen our communities for the future. With inclusive leadership and a positive, passionate team, working with us is an opportunity to experience a culture of connection and care, where every action you take matters, creating innovative solutions for our customers and communities.

The Opportunity

Our Performance, Reporting & Risk team is looking for a Graduate Analyst to join the team based in Mascot AND Port Kembla. As part of the broader Australian Steel Products (ASP) portfolio, you’ll support a complex, large-scale manufacturing environment that delivers innovative solutions to domestic and export markets.

This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in a collaborative and high-performing finance team. You’ll gain exposure to financial reporting, analysis, and business partnering in a complex manufacturing environment, supporting key functions across our Australian and New Zealand operations.

You’ll be supported with structured learning, development opportunities, and the chance to build your technical and commercial capability from day one.

What Will You Do?

You’ll support the delivery of accurate and insightful financial reporting while building your technical skills. You will also:

Contribute to monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting cycles, including preparing journals, accruals and reconciliations. You’ll develop a strong understanding of how financial results are built and reported across a large, complex business.
  • Deliver meaningful analysis and insights to stakeholders
Assist in preparing variance analysis and reporting for key cost centres, helping stakeholders understand performance and drivers of results. Over time, you’ll build confidence in translating financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Partner with the business to support performance outcomes
Work closely with teams across Legal, Commercial, Safety and other functions to support reporting and planning processes. You’ll build strong relationships and learn how finance partners with the business to drive accountability and performance.

More About You

You’re someone who’s naturally curious about how businesses operate and motivated to build a career in finance. You enjoy working with data, asking questions, and turning information into something useful.

You will bring:

  • a degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
  • a willingness to work towards CA/CPA (or already commenced)
  • a strong foundation in financial concepts, with an interest in applying them in a real-world environment
  • confidence working with data in Excel and an eagerness to build your technical skillset

As we continue to create strength for the future through our people, products and solutions, we want each and every day to be a chance to:

  • create innovative solutions for our customers and communities
  • learn and develop as you grow, building career pathways for the future
  • experience connection and care, and work collaboratively
  • deliver work that matters and have your work valued.
