Our Macarthur team want enthusiastic, customer focused team members to join us!

Why You’ll Love Working With Us
At Kathmandu, we believe your job should enrich your life — not just fill your time. When you join our team, you get access to a range of genuinely valuable benefits:

  • We’re Flexible, Because Life Happens

  • A launchpad for your leadership journey
  • If you're hungry to grow, this role is made for you. Our 3IC’s are the future leaders of our stores, with clear pathways into Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager roles. We’ll back you with coaching, development, and real responsibility from day one.
  • A brand with purpose
  • We are B Corp certified — sustainability and people are at the heart of everything we do. Work for a business that prioritises protecting the planet and giving back.
  • Gear you’ll love at prices you’ll love more
  • Generous staff discounts across Kathmandu and Rip Curl. Access to additional perks across our wider brand family.
  • Grow with us
  • Meaningful career opportunities across stores, support offices, and distribution in Australia and New Zealand. Pathways into retail leadership, product, design, marketing, and more.
  • A culture built on teamwork and adventure
  • Work alongside people who share your passion for the outdoors. Be part of a supportive, fun and inclusive team environment.
A Little Bit About the Role…
As a Part Time Manager in Training (3IC) at Macarthur, you’ll play a key role in the day success of the store. You will:
  • Provide reliable day to day leadership — confidently stepping up to run the floor and keep things moving smoothly.
  • Lead from the front with hands on customer engagement, solving problems on the spot and setting the tone for service excellence.
  • Support the team by communicating clearly, passing on information, and keeping everyone aligned with store priorities.
  • Build strong product knowledge and become the go to person for gear advice, sustainability stories, and technical features.
  • Bring consistency, dependability, and positive energy — especially during busy periods or unexpected challenges.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to develop their leadership capability and step confidently into future management roles. You’ll gain hands on experience running the floor, coaching others, and understanding store operations — all essential foundations for progressing in retail leadership.

What We’re Looking For…

You’ll thrive in this role if you:
  • Bring confident floor leadership and can keep the team focused during peak times.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and turn tricky situations into positive outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly, give simple instructions, and keep the team aligned.
  • Have strong operational accuracy — from stock handling to cash routines to compliance.
  • Understand our products and brand and enjoy coaching others to grow their knowledge.
  • You’re excited about growing into a manager one day — you’re hungry to learn, open to feedback, and ready to build the skills that will set you up for future leadership roles at Kathmandu
