Primary objective
Deliver professional administrative services, including providing financial and administrative support to the Business
Manager, the Principal and teaching staff in a busy and demanding school environment.

Context statement
Casuarina Street Primary School is a medium sized urban primary school located in Katherine East. The school uses the
Australian curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework to support students to develop personalised learning goals. This
growing school has a current enrolment of 380 students (17% Indigenous). A large proportion of students (35%) at Casuarina
Street Primary School are part of the expanding Australian Defence Force community in Katherine based at RAAF Tindal. A
range of connections and initiatives places the school at the heart of the Katherine Community, with attendance and
engagement of 90%.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver professional front office reception duties including answering calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments

and providing information to the wider community.
2. Perform data entry and retrieval of data from the Student Administration Management System and other school data

systems, to ensure the integrity and currency of all manual computerised student records.
3. Provide administrative support to the front office, the principal, leadership team, teaching staff and other relevant task

as directed by the Business Manager.
4. Responsible for accurate and timely receipting and banking of monies coming into the school, and ordering and

maintaining supplies
5. Perform cleaning tasks throughout the school when necessary.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Sound written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people

from diverse cultures and work well with a wide range of people with tact and discretion.
2. Demonstrated experience in the management of cash and purchasing including receipting and banking monies,.
3. Sound administrative and organisational skills, including tracking and managing work deadlines and adjusting priorities to

meet deadlines.
4. Demonstrated sound computer literacy skills, including, experience with the effective use of various school office

applications including SAMS or ability to quickly acquire.
5. The ability to work in a team and maintain integrity and confidentiality.
