Full job description

Locations: Perisher
Season Commences: Mid–Late June 2026
Application Period: May - early June 2026

You’re not just scanning tickets — you’re helping guests start their mountain experience the right way

As a Ticket Scanner, you are often one of the first team members our guests interact with on the mountain. Your role is all about creating a welcoming, organised, and efficient experience while supporting safe and smooth access across our resort operations.

This role combines customer service, attention to detail, and teamwork. You’ll work outdoors in alpine conditions, engage with thousands of guests throughout the season, and play an important role in maintaining the flow of lift and resort access areas.

If you enjoy fast-paced environments, helping people, and being part of an energetic mountain team, this could be the perfect winter role for you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Scanning guest lift passes and tickets at lift access gates and entry points
  • Welcoming guests and providing friendly, professional customer service
  • Assisting guests with general questions and directing them around the resort
  • Monitoring access areas to support smooth and efficient guest flow
  • Identifying and escalating ticketing or access issues where required
  • Maintaining clean, organised, and safe work areas
  • Working closely with Lift Operations team
  • Supporting a safe and positive guest experience at all times

This Role Is Not for Everyone

We want you to succeed — so it’s important to be upfront about what this role involves.

  • 100% outdoor work in alpine weather (cold, wind, snow, rain, sun)
  • Standing for long periods throughout the day
  • Early starts, weekends, public holidays, and roster changes due to operational needs
  • Working in busy guest-facing environments during peak periods
  • Maintaining professionalism and positivity while managing high guest volumes

If you enjoy being active, outdoors, and interacting with people — you’ll thrive.
If you prefer quiet, indoor, or low-interaction work — this may not be the right fit.

What You'll Bring

  • A positive attitude and genuine passion for customer service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a team-focused mindset
  • Confidence working in busy, fast-paced environments
  • Strong awareness of safety and guest experience
  • Availability for the full winter season

Additional Information – Ski / Snowboard Ability

While advanced skiing or snowboarding ability is not required for this role, experience in alpine environments and confidence moving around snow conditions is highly regarded.

As part of the application process, you may be asked to assess your skiing or snowboarding ability using the scale below.

Level
Description

Red
Never seen snow!

Yellow
First-time beginner. Learning to stop, slow down, turn, and ride a T-bar.

Green
Strong beginner. Linking turns and maintaining control on all green terrain.

Blue
Intermediate. Comfortable on all green and most blue terrain, including variable conditions.

Black
Strong intermediate to advanced. Confident on all groomed and most ungroomed terrain.
