Working alongside vulnerable young people aged 12-17 with complex support needs, you'll play a critical role in creating stability, connection, and opportunities for growth. Every day will be different, and every day will matter.
About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you'll support young people through meaningful relationships, positive role modelling and engaging activities designed to build confidence, independence and resilience.
You will:
- Build trusting relationships and provide a safe, supportive environment
- Support young people to achieve their goals and develop life skills
- Deliver engaging activities, mentoring opportunities and community experiences
- Apply trauma-informed practices and positive behaviour support strategies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external services
- Celebrate progress, encourage success and help young people thrive
We're seeking individuals who are:
- Compassionate, resilient and emotionally intelligent
- Flexible, adaptable and solutions-focused
- Confident working within professional boundaries
- Able to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, or willingness to obtain
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour support approaches
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Current NSW Driver Licence and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Our service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You'll participate in a rotating roster that includes:
- Morning, afternoon and night shifts
- Sleepovers (up to 3 per fortnight)
- Every second weekend
We offer:
- Permanent Part-Time positions (minimum 60 hours per fortnight with opportunities for additional shifts)
- Casual opportunities for those seeking flexibility
