Full job description

About Ampd Energy

Ampd Energy is transforming how cities build - cleaner, smarter, and more sustainably. We are trailblazers in making the construction industry emission-free. Our products are advanced, compact, and connected battery energy storage system (BESS) designed to replace the dirty, noisy, and hazardous diesel generators that power construction sites around the world. By combining connected hardware with advanced software and AI, we reduce emissions, noise, and operational complexity.

We envision an emission-free future across all industries. Our mission is to develop robust, versatile, and easy-to-use products that deliver clean energy - empowering businesses and people to achieve more. We're seeking individuals who bring entrepreneurial drive, adaptability, and enthusiasm, and who thrive in an environment of continuous learning and evolution.

Role Overview:

You will lead People Operations globally at Ampd, acting as a trusted advisor to leadership while keeping the business running with clarity and consistency from a people perspective. You'll own the full employee lifecycle — from recruiting and onboarding through performance management, compliance, and offboarding — managing the experience, systems, and processes that enable a high-performing, globally distributed team.

While this role may include up to two direct reports (focused on global payroll and benefits, and Hong Kong employee experience), this role will have end-to-end ownership of the function and execute and manage the vast majority of this scope independently. External partners such as recruiters, legal counsel, and contractors will supplement internal capacity as needed.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment. You'll bring structure where it's missing, drive alignment across people systems, and ensure consistent follow-through across key people processes and decisions.

What You'll Do

  • People Operations & Employee Lifecycle: Own every operational touchpoint of the employee experience - from offer letters and onboarding through role changes, leaves of absence, and offboarding. Build and maintain the HR systems, workflows, and documentation that keep the business running smoothly and compliantly. Ensure every employee interaction feels intentional, consistent, and high quality.
  • Strategic HR Business Partner: Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and business leaders. Proactively surface workforce trends, gaps, and opportunities, and bring a data-informed perspective to leadership decisions.
  • Recruiting: Own the recruiting function, including sourcing strategy, hiring processes, and offer frameworks. Partner closely with hiring managers to build high-performing teams and ensure a best-in-class candidate experience..
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Keep the business ahead of compliance risk across all operating regions. Maintain knowledge of employment law and HR regulations across regions, proactively close gaps, and know when to bring in outside expertise.
  • Culture & Engagement. Champion a unified global culture that supports our mission and values. Design and drive an employee experience that supports company growth and a high performing team.

Who You Are:

  • Global HR Partner. You have progressive HR experience supporting global, distributed teams. You're equally comfortable in the weeds and confident in advising the business’ people strategies.
  • Trusted Strategic Partner. You've built trust with senior leaders and know how to bring a people perspective into strategic conversations without losing the business context. You push back with data and lead with curiosity.
  • Operational Excellence. You don't just set strategy, you build and own the systems that make it real. You take pride in clean processes, accurate documentation, and an employee experience that feels thoughtful at every touchpoint.
  • Knowledgeable in global employment law. You have hands-on experience navigating multi-jurisdictional HR compliance and aren't rattled by complexity. You know when to act and when to bring in expertise.
  • Autonomous Builder. A builder who thrives in ambiguity. You're energized by a fast-moving environment where not everything is defined yet. You bring structure without bureaucracy, and you can prioritize ruthlessly when resources are limited.
  • Recruitment Champion. You've directly recruited talent and know how to balance speed, quality, and candidate experience.
