About the role:

We are looking for a Clerical Officer to join our Medical Records team on a permanent full-time basis. The Medical Records Clerk's primary function is to manage and maintain patient medical records, ensuring their accuracy, organization, and accessibility. You will play a vital role in supporting patient care, legal compliance, and administrative efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry and Record Management: Accurately recording and updating patient information in electronic or paper-based systems.
- Record Organization: Filing, retrieving, and maintaining patient records in a logical and efficient manner.
- Communication: Responding to inquiries and requests from patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Compliance: Adhering to privacy regulations and confidentiality policies.
- Support for Audits: Assisting with internal and external audits.
- Scanning and Provision of Records: Providing access to medical records and documentation required for patient care.
- Liaising with Staff: Working with medical staff to address issues related to missing documents or clinical notes.
- Database Management: Creating and maintaining a database of patient records.
- Security: Ensuring the security of patient files and databases.
Essential Criteria:
- Organizational Skills: Keeping records organized and readily accessible.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with patients and healthcare staff.
- Data Entry and Computer Skills: Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other software.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing issues related to missing documents or data discrepancies.

Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of private sector funding models in Australia
