Full job description
We're excited to welcome a Registered Nurse/ Registered Midwife to our Neonatal Unit Hospital in the Home service - NOURISH.
The Neonatal Unit health care team provide acute inpatient neonatal care to infants and their families through a family-centred and developmentally supportive model of care. This is achieved through close collaboration between staff and parents and is supported by the architectural design of the unit which facilitates individualised care and parents as partners in care.
The service receives support from Level 6 tertiary facilities via telehealth services. Close collaboration with the state-wide neonatal retrieval team facilitates the transfer of neonates requiring more complex care to a CSCF Level 6 Neonatal Service. SCUH accepts back transfers of SCHHS infants who have required care from higher level services.
As an extension of the inpatient care provided in the SCUH Neonatal Unit, care to eligible infants can be delivered through a hospital in the home service - NOURISH.
Sunshine Coast Health is a values-based organisation. We are committed to the maintenance of a culture in which we treat our colleagues with respect as we do our patients, consumers and the community. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.
Key Responsibilities include:
The position will require a high level of observation and assessment skills as you will be the sole practitioner visualising infants. You will be responsible for recognising and escalating care to medical teams and allied health professionals.
Delivery of care to infants in the Neonatal Unit if NOURISH does not require a RN/ RM for services.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Cue Based Feeding (CUBS) and the ability to provide breast feeding support.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and accurately whilst working closely and collaboratively within a small team.
Salary rates: $44.27 - $56.79 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Multiple Permanent Part-time positions available, hours negotiable. ) Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
