Through the battles and the breakthroughs, we're there. Where will you be?
For over a century, our incredible teams have provided care for people when they need it most. Our people feel great pride in this, and they value the security and stability we offer. But it also means so much opportunity - to build on all that’s gone before, to grow your impact and gain experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.
As a for-purpose organisation with over 10,000 dedicated, compassionate people, we continue to offer more services and deeper care than ever before. With Mercy, you’ll have the chance to make an impact and gain experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.
At Mercy Health, it’s all about taking what we have and making it better.
To do that, we need you.
Join us at Mercy Health, and help our teams deliver even greater outcomes.
About the opportunity:
Join Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing's Learning and Development Team and become part of a supportive, innovative, and recovery-focused service committed to developing the future mental health nursing workforce. Working alongside experienced educators, clinical supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams, you will receive structured education, clinical support, and professional development opportunities while providing high-quality care to consumers, families, and carers.
- Develop your mental health nursing knowledge and clinical skills through a structured learning program while working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary mental health team.
- Build therapeutic relationships with consumers, families and carers, supporting recovery-oriented practice through collaborative care planning, advocacy, and person-centred mental health nursing.
- Provide high-quality, recovery-oriented, person-centred care to consumers, families and carers, including conducting assessments, monitoring mental and physical health, and supporting recovery planning.
- Participate in dedicated education, clinical supervision, and professional development opportunities designed to build confidence, capability, and expertise in contemporary mental health nursing practice.
What you’ll bring:
You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Strong resilience and adaptability, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic mental health environment while managing competing priorities and responding to challenges professionally
- Excellent clinical, communication, time management and organisational skills, with the ability to think critically, problem solve and deliver safe, high-quality care.
- A compassionate, recovery-oriented approach to partnering with consumers, families and carers, with a commitment to person-centred mental health care
- The ability to build positive, respectful relationships and contribute effectively within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
Desire to complete a specialist qualification in mental health
You will also be required to provide evidence of:
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Covid vaccination status
