Full job description

Help us deliver like never before
We have multiple opportunities to join us, as one of our HC Truck Drivers. Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic red trucks to deliver for customers? As our Heavy Vehicle Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that!

You’ll be
  • Working a rotating night shift roster, with start times between 10:00pm and 11:30pm either Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday
  • Safely loading your truck with cages for delivery.
  • Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.
  • Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups.

About you
  • You’re friendly, enthusiastic and reliable, and love autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player.
  • You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.

You’ll also need to
  • Hold a current HC license with recent, demonstrated experience operating HC-class vehicles
  • Have a valid Forklift Licence (or willing to obtain one)
  • Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility.
  • Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills.
  • Meet our safe working load limit of weighing 120kgs or less.
  • Be fit enough to load and unload parcels of all different shapes, sizes and weights.
  • Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and national police checks.

How we’ll deliver for you
  • Drive our iconic fleet and benefit from competitive rates of approximately $43.45 per hour (inclusive of HC tonnage allowance), rotating rosters and a safe, inclusive working environment.
  • Benefit from 4% annual Enterprise Agreement (EA) wage increases each September.
  • We invest in you for the long term, encouraging growth through delivering on our values of trust, inclusivity, empowerment and safety.
  • Be part of a culture where everybody feels they belong, are valued, and can bring their authentic self to work every day.
  • Vehicle allowances vary depending on vehicle type and are not guaranteed each shift. Actual earnings will depend on hours worked and vehicle allocation.
  • This is a 6-month fixed-term role with strong opportunities for extension or ongoing employment for the right candidate, subject to operational requirements.
