Part-Time Outbound SDR

Customer Contact Officer Level 1 – Contract Call Centres Award

Employment: Permanent Part-Time
Hours: 25–32 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Location: Office / Hybrid/Remote
Reports to: Managing Director / Campaign Manager
Award: Contract Call Centres Award 2020
Classification: Customer Contact Officer Level 1
Base Rate: From $27.97/hour + 12% superannuation
Start: Immediate

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, confident Outbound SDR to join our team on a permanent part-time basis.

Your primary responsibility is simple: call businesses, speak with the right people, qualify opportunities and accurately record the outcome in our CRM.

You will work across outbound campaigns for established Australian and New Zealand businesses.

This is a structured calling role. Campaign lists, scripts, qualification criteria, systems and processes are provided.

What You'll Do

  • Make approximately 100 outbound calls per working day
  • Contact businesses from supplied prospect lists
  • Identify and speak with relevant decision-makers
  • Follow supplied campaign scripts and talking points
  • Ask qualification questions and identify potential opportunities
  • Capture renewal dates, current providers and other relevant information
  • Book meetings or callbacks where campaign criteria are met
  • Record every call and outcome accurately in the CRM
  • Maintain accurate contact and company information
  • Complete required follow-up calls
  • Work through assigned calling lists efficiently
  • Follow campaign, privacy and compliance procedures
  • Participate in basic training, coaching and call reviews

What We're Looking For

You don't need years of sales experience.

You do need to be:

  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
  • Confident speaking with business owners and professionals
  • Clear and professional on the phone
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable working towards daily activity targets
  • Able to follow scripts and established processes
  • Organised with CRM and data entry
  • Resilient when dealing with rejection
  • Coachable and willing to improve

Experience in a call centre, appointment setting, customer service, telesales or business development is helpful but not essential.

Performance Expectations

A normal working day will target approximately:

100 outbound calls

Performance is also measured on:

  • Calls completed
  • Contact rate
  • Decision-maker conversations
  • Qualified opportunities
  • Meetings/callbacks generated
  • Accurate CRM records
  • Quality and compliance
  • Attendance and reliability

Quality matters as much as activity. Employees are not expected to generate opportunities where the prospect does not meet the campaign's qualification criteria.

Hours

This is a permanent part-time position working 25–32 ordinary hours per week, with the agreed regular pattern of work documented as part of the employment arrangement.

Typical hours may be scheduled Monday to Friday during normal business calling hours.

Pay & Entitlements

The position is intended to be classified as Customer Contact Officer Level 1 under the Contract Call Centres Award 2020, subject to the employee's actual duties and applicable workplace law.

Current minimum base rate from 1 July 2026:

$27.97 per hour + 12% superannuation

Permanent part-time employees also receive applicable National Employment Standards and Award entitlements, including:

  • Paid annual leave on a pro-rata basis
  • Paid personal/carer's leave on a pro-rata basis
  • Superannuation
  • Applicable public holiday entitlements
  • Other applicable Award and NES entitlements

Progression

There is an opportunity to progress as skills, experience and responsibilities increase.

Potential progression includes:

Customer Contact Officer Level 1 → Customer Contact Officer Level 2 → Principal Customer Contact Specialist → Team Leader

Progression is based on the actual duties performed, capability, performance and business requirements.

What Success Looks Like

You consistently turn up, work through your assigned calling lists, make high-quality calls, accurately record what happened and identify genuine opportunities for our clients.

We're looking for someone who can become a dependable part of the team and grow with the business.
