Full job description
FEMALE support worker required for our late teen female, non-verbal client with Cerebral Palsy who lives with her family in Craigieburn.
Our client enjoys watching her favourite shows on her iPad and using her head switch for messaging. She is a huge fan of Taylor Swift and loves socialising and going shopping. She also likes to choose books for her support workers to read to her.
To be considered for this opportunity you must have a minimum of 12 months experience supporting high needs/complex clients as our client requires full support with personal care, feeding, communication and mobility.
Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 4pm to 8pm.
The following experience must be outlined in your application: Experience with epilepsy & asthma management, PEG feeding, suctioning, communication devices (non-verbal client), use of PODD, hoisting and transfer experience, and experience with mobility equipment - wheelchair, standing frame, etc.
Nursing students and ex nurses highly desirable.
Key selection criteria:
- Minimum of 12 months experience supporting high needs/complex clients
- Female
- Willingness to learn complex care supports
- Strong observational skills
- A proactive approach
- Problem solving capabilities
- Respect for established routines
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current CPR certificate
- 2 references from prior and/or current employers
Certificate III or IV in Disability Support desired but not essential!
