The Imaging Physics Team
The Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET Program provides medical imaging services across all modalities. The Program offers a collaborative and intellectually engaging environment in which to work and learn. The Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics Team is a small, high-performing group committed to delivering expert clinical physics and radiation safety services across Alfred Care Group.
The team consists of:
- Three radiology medical physicists
- Three nuclear medicine medical physicists
- One physics registrar
- One physics administrator
The Role
Join our team and gain exposure to the full breadth of diagnostic imaging medical physics practice. Opportunities to work within a larger, well-established imaging physics team are uncommon in Australia, providing a supportive environment with strong professional collaboration and development opportunities.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct compliance testing of imaging equipment
- Perform radiation dose auditing and image quality optimisation
- Undertake radiation dosimetry
- Assist in the investigation of reportable radiation incidents
- Contribute to radiation risk assessments for research trials
- Participate in a wide range of clinical medical physics activities across a complex healthcare setting
This position is based within the Radiology Department and offers close collaboration with other radiology professional groups.
Requirements
Registration: ACPSEM registered Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physicist (Radiology). Candidates close to completing the ACPSEM DIMP TEAP certification program or eligible for ACPSEM registration in radiology physics are also encouraged to apply.
