About the role

An opportunity is available for an experienced laboratory or quality scientist to join the Quality Assurance team as a Quality Officer. You will support the Quality Manager to optimise and embed the Quality Management System (QMS), including managing document control, SOPs, methodology and equipment verification, staff training plans, internal audit findings and laboratory incidents.

Working collaboratively with senior scientific and quality staff across multiple disciplines, you will provide guidance and support to ensure processes align with ISO 15189, NPAAC, NATA, RCPA and ACHS standards. This role also provides opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lead small projects, with flexible working arrangements available where appropriate

Key Accountabilities

Support the optimisation and effective use of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Coordinate QMS requests including SOPs, verification, equipment and training plans.
and progress internal audit findings and laboratory incidents.
Maintain document control and quality records in line with accreditation requirements.
Provide guidance to laboratory teams on quality processes and compliance requirements.
Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and small quality projects.

About You

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Medical Science or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory.
Strong understanding of quality systems, with experience supporting process improvement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with scientific and management staff.
Experience with Q-Pulse, internal audits, incident reviews, training delivery and/or NATA accreditation requirements is desirable.
