Are you passionate about providing outstanding customer service and enjoy solving problems? We're looking for a Customer Service Representative with a technical mindset to join a leading industrial solutions business on a Temp to Perm minimum 6-month role, with the possibility of extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of experience in a customer service, contact centre or technical support environment who enjoys helping customers, learning new products and working in a fast-paced team. Following your training period, you'll have the flexibility to work 2 days from home each week.
This role would be ideal for an early-career junior applications engineer looking to build your technical expertise in a customer-focused role

About the Role
As part of the Applications and Engineering Customer Service team, you'll be the first point of contact for customers, handling inbound calls and emails, answering product enquiries and helping customers find the right solutions for their needs. You'll work closely with internal sales and technical teams to ensure customers receive accurate information and exceptional service.
Full product training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys customer interaction and has an interest in technical or industrial products.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of inbound customer calls and email enquiries.
• Assist customers with product information, availability and basic technical enquiries.
• Utilising SAP and excel on a daily basis
• Recommend suitable products based on customer requirements.
• Provide a high level of customer service while resolving enquiries efficiently.
• Escalate more complex technical issues to specialist teams where required.
• Process customer requests and maintain accurate records in internal systems.
• Work closely with internal sales and technical teams to ensure positive customer outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with customers through professional and friendly service.
• Contribute to achieving customer satisfaction and service performance targets.
• Support the sales team with technical enquiries and product recommendations.
• Develop knowledge of key industrial products and technologies.
• Assist in creating technical documentation, product comparisons and FAQs.
• Participate in customer visits alongside senior team members when required.
• Deliver product demonstrations and basic technical training.
• Assist with quotations, product presentations and customer proposals.

About You

• 1–2 years' experience in a customer service, contact centre, Engineering technical support or internal sales role.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional phone manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn technical products.
• Confident using computer systems such as Office, SAP and Excel and managing multiple enquiries.
• A positive attitude with a genuine passion for helping customers.
• Experience working with industrial, engineering or technical products is advantageous but not essential.
• A qualification in Engineering, Electronics or a technical field is beneficial but not required.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• A genuine interest in industrial products, automation, electronics or instrumentation.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Well organised with good problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a supportive team
