Role Description

The Intelligence and Audit Officer supports the Senior Manager, Information Security Compliance and Assurance by assisting in the delivery of OVIC's information security regulatory functions under the PDP Act. The role delivers audit, compliance monitoring and business intelligence of regulated entities and combines the analysis of security, compliance and operational data with structured audit activities to identify risks, trends and non-compliance.

At the VPS Grade 3 level the Intelligence and Audit Officer is expected to work with a degree of independence, applying developed analytical, audit and technical skills to plan and carry out moderately complex compliance reviews, data analysis and intelligence work with limited day-to-day supervision. The role requires sound judgement in interpreting security and compliance data, forming audit findings, and determining how issues should be investigated, escalated or reported, while referring matters involving significant risk, sensitivity or potential non-compliance to the Manager, Information Security Compliance and Assurance for decision.
