Full job description
Employment Type: Permanent Part Time; 32 hours per week
Position Classification: Scientific Officer
Remuneration: $38.52 - $54.94 per hour + Annual leave loading + Superannuation
Location: Concord Repatriation General Hospital

About the Role
You'll be working at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. It has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.
The successful applicant will:
- Perform standard and specialised/complex lung function testing in accordance with laboratory protocols and international standards
- Analyse, calculate, and prepare results for reporting
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain respiratory laboratory equipment
- Conduct quality control, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and infection control procedures
- Ensure accurate, reliable, and reproducible test results
- Maintain compliance with laboratory procedures, ANZSRS/TSANZ/NATA and international guidelines
- Maintain laboratory stock levels and consumables
- Perform general laboratory administration and quality assurance duties
- Assist in delivering a high standard of patient care and service to referring practitioners Participate in and contribute to educational, laboratory and departmental meetings

Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor of Science/Medical science with human anatomy or physiology subjects
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
- Roster details: laboratory is open 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday, mutually agreed hours to be determined with laboratory manager
