About the opportunity
In this role, you’ll safely operate a company van to collect mail and parcels from a range of locations, including street posting boxes, corporate offices, licensed post offices and delivery centres. You’ll unload and accurately sort mail and parcels into Parcel Lockers, complete daily vehicle safety checks, and take pride in doing the job right every time. You’ll be supported on the road by experienced senior drivers who are invested in your development, helping you build capability, confidence, and a strong foundation for long‑term success.


About you

  • You are ok with casual hours of work (no guarantee of hours)
  • Hold a full open NSW C Class driver’s licence
  • Experience driving a van or large vehicle (our vans are automatic)
  • Safety‑focused and able to pass our practical van driving assessment
  • Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work additional hours when required
  • Detail‑oriented and consistent, taking pride in getting the job done right
  • Happy doing very physical repetitive lifting work loading and unloading vans
  • Are ok to handle packages that may contain food and/or alcohol
  • Comfortable handling mail and parcels up to 16kg as part of daily work
  • Meet our safe working load requirement of 130kg or less

Training and Support
At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
