Full job description

We're excited to welcome an Allied Health Assistant/Clinical Assistant to our Acute Restorative Care Service. This multidisciplinary team has multiple Allied Health Assistants/Clinical Assistants working collaboratively to delivery effective care.

This unit provides timely patient-centred interprofessional care for older persons who are cognitively or physically frail across the continuum from acute to subacute and restorative care. It provides a caring environment where the needs and welfare of older persons are valued and embedded into day-to-day practice. ARC functions flexibly to provide flow solutions for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, while providing comprehensive and co-ordinated care for frailty, behaviours of concerns due to dementia, general geriatric evaluation and management, and slow stream rehabilitation.

Sunshine Coast Health is a values-based organisation. We are committed to the maintenance of a culture in which we treat our colleagues with respect as we do our patients, consumers and the community. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.

Key Responsibilities include:
Provide a defined range of clinical screening assessments as delegated and allowed by testing guidelines and legislation.
Provide a defined range of treatments as prescribed by the AHP and work under their general direction including using decision support tools, clinical pathways and patient guidelines.
Perform safe practice in the performance of material handling tasks, patient manual handling and positioning techniques.
Identify potential changes needed in treatment programs using results from standardised assessment tools and gain endorsement to make these changes following discussion with the supervising Allied Health Professional.

Remuneration value up to $82 130 p.a., comprising salary between $68 471 - $71 983 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (CA3). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).

Why work for us?
