What you'll be doing

WSLHD - Career Medical Officer - Medical Officer in Charge (Adults only)- Auburn Hospital


The MOIC is the senior medical officer in-charge providing safe and effective medical management to a broad case-mix of adult medical, surgical and aged care patients. 24/7 rotating roster
  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • At least five years full time postgraduate years’ experience with more than 12 months experience in the Australian healthcare system with demonstrated recent clinical and procedural experience in Adult critical care specialty areas, including placement of arterial and central line and intubation.
  • Excellent clinical skills, judgment, and demonstrated competency to provide safe effective patient care
  • Demonstrated evidence of participation in ongoing professional development and self-education, including completion and currency in the identification and resuscitation of adults including ALS, ALS2 and ability to perform Advanced life support procedures.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, to provide leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients
  • Demonstrated commitment and evidence in providing effective teaching and supervision of junior medical staff
  • Commitment to participate in system improvement activities including quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  • Participation in 24/7 roster
