Salary: OPS2 - $66,441 to $69,504 p.a. (pro-rata) + Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits

Casual Role to 8 Feb 2027
About the Role
As a Radiology Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping deliver exceptional patient care across South Australian Medical Imaging (SAMI). Working alongside radiographers, sonographers and a multidisciplinary team, you'll support the safe and efficient delivery of medical imaging services while creating a welcoming, reassuring experience for every patient who walks through our doors.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where every day is different. You'll assist with patient movement and preparation, support imaging procedures, maintain clinical areas and work closely with radiographers, sonographers, nurses and medical staff to keep the department running smoothly. A unique highlight of the role is helping children prepare for MRI examinations by guiding them through our mock MRI Rocket Ship, reducing anxiety and building confidence before their scan. Your kindness, encouragement and calm approach will help create a safe, comfortable and truly patient-centred experience for children and their families, while supporting radiographers to achieve the best possible imaging outcomes.
About You
You're someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and understands that a smile, kind word or reassuring presence can make all the difference. Whether you're supporting a child through their first MRI adventure or assisting a busy clinical team, you'll bring empathy, professionalism and a positive attitude to every interaction. To be successful in this role you will:
Build genuine connections with patients of all ages, helping children feel safe, confident and excited as they prepare for MRI scans in our mock Rocket Ship
Communicate confidently and work collaboratively with radiographers, sonographers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care
Stay calm, organised and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, showing initiative and a willingness to learn and support others
Bring experience in, or an understanding of, a healthcare environment, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, confidentiality and putting patients first
